Report on Progress

Economic Development is a process, not an event.  Ideally, groups like Forward Cody want communities to think of this process like building blocks.  With Leadership and Public Policy Development providing the foundation which will mobilize the community to plan for and support positive growth.  Infrastructure Development, Workforce Development and a Quality of Life are critical components that create an additional layer to the overall foundation that fosters an attractive business climate.  Beyond the foundation evokes another layer of building blocks allowing for existing businesses to successfully retain and expand their workforce while entrepreneur’s dreams become reality.   When all the layers are in place communities like Cody are ready to diversify and enhance the existing base with the recruitment of new business.  The four layers are designed to bolster Cody's ability towards long-term growth and development.   It is the responsibility of Forward Cody to provide the education of such processes to our community.

We have put our best foot forward and have had some incredible successes we shared with our community and our valued investors at the Report on Progress Public Meeting will was held on January 21st at the Holiday Inn.  Guests were given a brief program that included a welcome from Forward Cody Chairman, Rich Petersen, a two year recap and an inspiring message on the Future from CEO, James Klessens and of course a special message from Senator Al Simpson.
