BUSINESS BOOT CAMP
START-UPS, EXPANSIONS, STRUGGLING BUSINESSES
THIS BUSINESS BOOT CAMP IS FOR YOU!
Cody-area entrepreneurs and business owners will have a chance to tap into valuable educational resources and connect with other entrepreneurs when the inaugural Business Boot Camp convenes at the Northwest College Center for Training & Development beginning March 3
The Business Boot Camp will showcase local business success stories. It will offer an unmatched arsenal of useful ideas and practical ammunition to help entrepreneurs and business owners battle their most difficult challenges. Participants get instruction, tools and strategies as they develop their business plans throughout the series.
Business specialists include a marketing guru, a branding expert, an accountant, an attorney, consultants, and successful entrepreneurs. The classes will cover what participants need to know to build their businesses, especially in these challenging economic times.
The topics follow a building block approach to starting or growing a business:
Are You Ready to be in Business? (March 3rd),
Business Intelligence (March 10th),
Profit 101 & Manufacturing Works (March 24th),
Marketing (March 31st),
Business Structures (April 14th),
Finances (April 21st),
Business Operations (May 5th), and
Launching Your Business (May 12th).
The Boot Camp is designed to help participants understand the dynamics that support business growth and to focus their energy and attention on the things that lead to greater profitability.
The Business Boot Camp will be a great place to become better informed and get motivated, inspired, and challenged to take a business or business idea to the next level. It’s important for entrepreneurs to have an event like this Boot Camp to support their efforts.
The series will conclude with the business plans developed for the challenge. The top three business plans, as selected by an outside panel of experts, will be presented to the public in early June. Prizes will include packages of business tools and services. Participants must attend a minimum of five sessions to be eligible for the Business Challenge.
The Business Boot Camp is a partnership of the many agencies that provide business training. Organizers include Kathy Crookshanks of Northwest College’s Center for Training & Development, Diane DiJenno of the Department of Workforce Services-Cody Center, Tara Kuipers of UW Cooperative Extension Services, Leah Bruscino of the Wyoming Business Council, Andy Rose of Manufacturing Works, Bruce Morse of the Small Business Development Center, Forward Cody staff, Mark Landerman of Park County School District 6 Entrepreneurial Program and Kim Jones and Cathi Love from the Cody Country Chamber of Commerce.
