Amber Simon-Power of Power Business Strategies provided the Board and Forward Cody members a briefing on the newly released INSIGHTS publication. This book, chock full of data about our community, will help all of us become better at our business. Amber did an outstanding job in talking about the data and current trends in Cody. The publication is available to all Forward Cody members as a benefit of membership and will be updated annually.
Black Hills Energy and Y-TEX sponsored the lunch in the Pitchfork Room at West Park Hospital. Thank you for your generosity in making an already great event better!
This year Forward Cody was privileged to have Governor Matt Mead as key note speaker for our Annual Dinner. The Governor spoke about the changing economy, what it will mean for the State and more specifically what it will mean to local government. He was also very gracious in allowing time for a question and answer period. As usual, the Governor was very candid and informative providing those attending with a behind the scenes look at the things he deals with on a daily basis. This was our first Annual Dinner and we look forward to many more. At this dinner we welcomed new board member, Tim Mahieu; financial advisor at Wells Fargo. We also thanked Wes Allen of Sunlight Sports for the time and dedication he gave as a board member (2012 – 2015).
On Friday, August 12, West Park Hospital and Forward Cody were pleased to offer a half-day seminar with nationally acclaimed speaker Dr. David Hunnicutt. The seminar, “Take Your Business From Good To Great - What The Best Do Better” was a high energy, four-hour program which helped participants build a positive business culture that produces results.
Dr. Hunnicutt has worked with agencies and businesses such as the United Nations, the Union Pacific Railroad, John Deere, Blue Cross Blue Shield, General Motors, Stanford University, and Notre Dame sharing his unique research and ideas. His presentations are viewed as being engaging, enlightening and illuminating. Participants walked away with key business practices that will help them take their company to the next level.
